I live in a small farming community and u will never see a farmer without a Multi-Plier stuck to his belt. My grandfather used to carry a one all the time, i remember him using it for allot of different things from cleaning his fingernails, stripping electric wire to popping the lock on the bathroom door when it was stuck. Gerber has made amazing high quality products over the years and this gerber suspension multi-plier is the most bought multi-plier.

Lightweight and strong this multi-Plier offers the durability of stainless steel construction along with an aluminum butterfly-opening handle that’s inspired by the precision engineering of Portland, Oregon’s famous suspension bridges. Like those time-tested iron bridges, this tool is designed to deliver.

Amazon Customer questions & answers

Can someone provide the dimensions of this tool when closed? I need it to fit into a tool pouch and the dimensions in the listing are confusing.

3 7/8 long by 1 7/8 wide by 3/4 inch thick when closed.

What is the difference between Gerber 22-01471 and Gerber 22-41471? Are the both made in China?

I believe they are both made in China and the only difference I can see is the 22-41471 is black. They both have all the same tools and attachments. I use mine (22-01471) on a daily basis and it is a great tool!

When tool is closed does it stay closed or does it want to come open on its own ?

Since it’s only metal, not a sentient being, it is incapable of desire (does it want) or independent action (open on its own).
